St. Dominic Priory in Denver, Colorado, approached Scottish Stained Glass to bring artistic and spiritual depth to their newly constructed building. Father Louis and David reached out with a vision to enhance the twelve plain-glass windows that surrounded their downtown sanctuary. While the church wanted to preserve natural light, they also desired greater privacy and a meaningful way to depict the life of St. Dominic—their patron saint. Our design team conducted detailed research into the life and teachings of St. Dominic, identifying key moments to illustrate across each window. The result was a series of twelve stained glass windows, each telling a “story within a story,” honoring his devotion, faith, and legacy.

The building itself had been thoughtfully designed with stained glass in mind. Installation was smooth and efficient, as our panels fit perfectly into the predesigned frames, allowing the artistry to blend effortlessly with the modern structure. This project serves as a valuable lesson for churches and religious institutions planning new construction: incorporating stained glass potential from the start ensures beauty and practicality can unite when the time comes.

Notable Highlights
What makes the St. Dominic Priory project so remarkable is the integration of narrative and foresight. Each window captures an aspect of St. Dominic’s life, weaving together themes of faith, study, and service in a luminous visual journey. The foresight of the architects to include stained glass pockets decades earlier allowed the installation to unfold exactly as envisioned—transforming the space into one filled with color, privacy, and spiritual resonance. The completed windows now bathe the priory in soft, meaningful light, providing inspiration to all who gather within.
